I just CAN NOT believe this stupid little board is beating me! I MUST be missing something!

I click the IBU3 icon and the page opens. I click the firmware update button and it opens. It opens up and the cursor is flashing next to "file name". I click on downloads where she made the file folder for the IBU3 update I click the file folder and then click open and it changes from the folder screen to just saying the new update. This is where it gets weird. When I click the open button it opens it again, then opens the IBU3 configurator, I click open again and it says it doesn't match any files. Its like its missing something.

IDK, I can't believe I've wasted my entire 4th of July on this damn thing! Now I'm back to square 1! :thumbdown:

Quick Tip. Guys, do you know the program "Teamviewer"? It is free. if both of you install it in your pcs, Ian could control Jackalope's PC from his home and update the board or fix whathever problem is driving Jackalope crazy.

Im sorry I cant help more, I dont have any Ibu 3...

No idea what that even is. Like I've said before I'm just too stupid to figure this board out. I've removed it from my tank and put it back in its box where it'll be safe. I'm afraid if I keep screwing with it I'm going to fry it somehow. It's already had all its memory wiped clean and I have no idea how to redo what's been lost. I'm seriously thinking at this point it's just best I sell it before it's ruined. I can't figure it out, my daughter can't figure it out, my wife can't figure it out maybe were all just too stupid.

Ok, wife said hell no to the team viewer idea. So that's that I'll be posting it for sale tomorrow. No point keeping it if no one here has any clue as to how it works.

Teamviewer is a very nice tool you should consider use. And you always see what is the other guy doing with your computer. I use it quite a lot and never had any problem.

Which port are you connecting to? I've found only port 3 works. Second question, did you install the 64bit virtual port drivers?

With mine it's port 4 like shown in the example.

I have no idea what a 64 bit virtual driver is, I'm sorry. :{
Everything else works perfectly just not the update.

The virtual ports the other bit of software you have to install to get it working. But if the boards connecting to the pc that's ruled that out!

( SERIOUSLY man this needs to be made easier or I want a refund and I'll send you this thing back! )

I wouldn't, I made that mistake and got stung for £25 for them to restock it.

I'll shoot in some here now
just had a ssd crash a few weeks back. Now my pc is up and running again. installed all types of drives and what not you have to one a rebuild ( stationary pc w7 64 bit ) .

Now I uppgraded to the latest IBU configurator software, and DL the uppgrade file, unziped it . Stored it in a folder. openend the program, choose com port ( 3) opend setup, all looking good, exit setup, enter Firmware Upgrade , but then, not so happy pappy anymore . It just did not wanted to work. failed every time I tried to uppgrade . Uninstall / reinstall a couple of million times, nada.. Then I installed the software on my sons School computer the day after , installed the configurator , installed the Com port drivers , unzipped the uppgrade file, and what do you know , all done in a few Seconds.
Beats me , but it seems my win7 64 bit just wont take it , not the Boards fault, ore the com port drivers it seems , but damn was I frustraded for a day+ there , so I can understand the anger Jack .
