I don't get it, what am I doing wrong? I've FINALLY got the tank to sync up, I downloaded and saved the new file to my laptop but when I click the install new firmware button and open the dropdown screen my downloaded update doesn't show up any place.

Ian, SERIOUSLY man this needs to be made easier or I want a refund and I'll send you this thing back! I'm not kidding this is freaking ridiculous! Its like your IBU3 just can't see any of the stuff that's on my laptop that I downloaded from your site!

I may not be an MIT grad but God Damn I can sure as hell use my HP Tuners software to disable my 2nd set of O2 sensors to run no cats on my car, disable the top speed governor so it'll run 170+ MPH, turn off the evap system so the fuel pressure is high enough with the stock fuel pump to run the 170+ MPH and not get any spark knock, adjust the timing and shift point mapping tables on my 6 speed automatic transmission with no damn problems but I can't get this God Damn little stupid tank to work?!?!?!? WTF?!?!?!? Something is WAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY wrong here man! This ain't cool!

Hi Terry,

Have you unzipped the firmware. Chances are if it’s still in a zipped folder you won’t find when going through a program open screen just like every other computer program.

Ian.

My daughter who works in computer forensics is trying to figure it out, 6 years of college computer courses to try to update a toy tank. She said zipped folders are such a pain and wonders why anyone still uses them? I have no idea but she can recreate crashed hard drives for the police and find child predators on the computer so if SHE can't figure it out you got a serious problem Ian.

She said everything is unzipped in its own file but clicking on the firmware update does nothing.

And she just gave up! AWESOME!

She can track wire transfers around the God damn world to find a bad guy hiding in a cave in bum fuck Egypt using a smart phone but even using her work laptop can not get this to work!

What is going on?

So now I can find the new stuff but when I click open nothing happens.

I guess she needs another couple years of college computer programing and cyber forensics courses huh?

I'm no PC geek and didn't have any issues so can you give some information on the computer, what OS version, what you did leading up to the firmware update, etc. So I might be able to assist rather than just say it doesn't work.

All I did, and then she re-did was to download the download on the RC Tanks Electronics web site. She unzipped them and created its own folder for them. She opened the IBU3 window and clicked the firmware update button, it opened and the stuff was all there, she clicked to open it and it said it did not match any files. She tried downloading and setting up the folder in several different places and no would open in the firmware update screen. So she read the above instructions and thought the tank needed to be on during all of this so she turned it on, it did its little I'm on sound, the little green light was lite solid as was the yellow light. She went back and tried to open the files again and it still wouldn't. So went back to the IBU setup screen and clicked it, saw the FACTORY SETTINGS button in the upper right corner and clicked it thinking that's how she could upload the new factory settings and as you know that re-set the board and its wiped clean, all the Jagdtiger sounds and settings were replaced by the factory settings.

At that point she said "this is stupid, sorry dad but I have no idea why none of this won't work." uninstalled all the IBU stuff from her work laptop, unplugged my now wiped clean tank and left for work.

So now I'm back to square 1 with this board, what do I do now?
