Is it true - limited production of HL Challenger 2?

Post by atcttge »

Is it true that HL produced only a limited number of Challenger 2 tanks? Due to funding constraints I will only be able get one next year. :(

Imex has plenty right now and I've heard nothing about a limited run. Also, Imex plans a Chally with a metal lower and torsion bar suspension, so I'd say the Challenger is here to stay.

I may go for one if it's got a metal hull. Plastic breaks so easy!

Good point, Paul, and I'm probably wrong about torsion bar. I do know Imex plans the M1, the Leo and the Challenger, all with metal lower hulls. As for suspension, I'm not sure so I'll have to investigate further.

There you go:

It's not so clear from the photos but I think the torsion bars are angled slightly inside the hull so they don't interfere.

Given that the Challenger 2 has a Hydraulic suspension which is almost certainly not going to be reproduced by anyone in 1/16 It means that the most effective and cheap alternative will be fitted by the maker, can anyone come up with a suspension system for a 1/16 Tank that will be both effective and space saving ?
Shaun.
