I am new to the world of r/c let alone r/c tanks. I decided to get a heng long, so when I happened to come across a bulldog being sold as spares and repair on eBay. I thought with having a tight budget that is the one.
When waiting for it to arrive I was dreaming of some simple fix and what camo and mods I wanted for it.
It has arrived and wow now I can see the work needed just to get it to drive.
Phase 1 Getting it to drive
1: One segment of the metal track has partly snapped off.
2: A resistor and a wire needs soldering
3: Top guide wheels on both side at the rear are tight.
These are just the problems I can see just to get it to move.
2 and 3 should be a easy fix. The metal track I was thinking or more hoping some metal putty dremeled into shape would be a temporary fix for this. Have ordered a new crystal set.

Tank78,
Do yourself a favor and order a new set of plastic tracks or new links for the metal ones. New tracks can be plastic to begin with since those are quite durable and give good traction. Most importantly, if you order new tracks, add a link to either side when they arrive, before you mount them on the tank. Breakages like your photo depicts are most often the result of overly tight tracks right from the factory. Open the tank up as well when you can and check the gear boxes to make sure that nothing is out of alignment there due to the tight track issue on this one.
Regards and good luck bringing your Walker back to full operating capability!

All pretty easy fixes....go with the advice Painless gave you...loosen pins that hold the guide wheels...and solder that resistor...you should be running in no time
