I think it's just here...there are more lurkers than participants

A better Question is...do you like to meet ..converse...have fun with others you have something in common with...That's it...that's the bottom line for me...Don't care about the Lurkers .. because eventually...you find they have no worth at all

Not to step on any toes, but I've noticed this when it comes to RC tankers in general. Static modeling, or even othe RC disciplines seem to be more conversation oriented for some reason. Post a model on a static site and you get tons of comments compared to views, same goes for RC aircraft. But for some odd reason, regardless of which forum, RC tankers look more that talk. Not hammering anyone there, just saying I'm here for conversation. If I wanted to be ignored, I'll talk to my wife and kids. ;D

At least my dog listens, but he doesn't comment much. :wtf:
What, me worry?

I don't tend to post much, almost lurker levels of activity lol.But usually after ten minutes reading on here it's started so many new ideas I've forgoton about posting and I'm off on a tangent.
I will jump in if I have knowledge of something but as a newb to the tanks don't want to send someone in one direction when one of the more experienced among you prob know better.

Plus now I'm only one post from promotion

I have never submitted so much as one picture and I have no intention of starting and yet I feel as much a part of the Forum as the most prolific provider of photographs,
I build my Tanks for me, and my ego is big enough without being told how wonderful my puny efforts have been ALTHOUGH I do feel a sense of guilt when borrowing ideas from other builds,
My consolation being the number of original ideas I have incorporated into my own builds, Such as refilling my TARR Smokers externally on my Tigers through one of the fuel fillers that I have modified and fitting magnets to the air cleaner pipes that connect to the intake tubes making the quick release more efficient or using extended 8 pin connector cable between hull and body so I can work on the Tanks with the Body off and yet still operating.
The exchange of all things Tank can be usually done with words as well as pictures.
Shaun.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

I also post at RCU, but this is home and my favorite. There isn't anyone here that I dislike. Can't say that about RCU. No forum is gonna be perfect, but I feel comfortable here and I haven't met a single dude here that wouldn't be welcome to the guestroom if he's ever in town. For some stupid reason I also get a kick out of being a first generation German-American hangin' out with a bunch of Brits, not to mention all the great guys of many backgrounds and nationalities here. I really am starting to become a tankist. RC Tankers are just better than regular people.

jarndice wrote:To the unwary, ranks of Non Commissioned Officers in the British Army can be a nightmare for instance the Household Cavalry are quite different to any other Regiment or Corp =
Regimental Corporal Major is a WO1
Regimental Quartermaster Corporal is a WO 2 as is
Squadron Corporal Major WO 2
Staff Corporal is a Staff Sergeant
Corporal of Horse is a Sergeant
Lance Corporal of Horse is a Corporal and a
Lance Corporal is yes really a Lance Corporal !!
Other Regiments and Corp have similar differences.
Gary, Sergeant Major is not of itself usually used as a rank, It is usually preceded by an identifier such as Squadron / Company /Flight /Troop but is always a WO 2,
All those other titles you mention I fear are absent from the British Army Rank Structure.
Wasn't that fun?
shaun.
Interestingly enough....How is it that the highest rank here is "FIELD MARSHAL"???????????????? :wtf: ....So we all are striving to be German....or the guy that cleans up after everyone is finished playing with their tanks

I should have been more clear on the term Lurkers.....there are Lurkers ....those who have a sense of humor and adventure...and there are LURKERS...who are pretty much more like trolls :haha: :haha: :haha:

LOL...I liked that part too :haha: ....Pets are the Ultimate Lurker....but they do communicate in their own way....My bird loved the sound of my tank's MG and Main gun....also the Engine noises...it would chirp and whistle with reckless abandon... .My Dobi would stomp her feet as a warning not to get closer...My mixed breed was the silent but violent type ...and would just give you a "look" ...a warning...."if that gets any closer...it's dead" :haha: :haha: :haha:
