Re: Non-Elevating Tiger Barrel
I've opened up the turret as you can see and then wired everything up and there is no noise from the small motor in the curved plastic box thing where the motor and cogs are. It's got to be a dodgy wire connection or the motors shagged I think.
Re: Non-Elevating Tiger Barrel
Do you have any kind of spare motor you could plug into the RX...if you do ...just to make sure there is nothing wrong with the RX...plug it in and see if it runs...if it does ...your elevation motor is probably toast ...If you don't have a spare motor laying around....You might be able to plug the smoker into the plug....the motor is about the same size and should activate...don't go too long...just see if it will runPebs434 wrote:I've opened up the turret as you can see and then wired everything up and there is no noise from the small motor in the curved plastic box thing where the motor and cogs are. PS. Another test to the elevation motor would just pull out the plug and go direct to battery ...first to the contacts on the motor...then to the connector ,,,sometimes the soldered joint comes off on those things

Re: Non-Elevating Tiger Barrel
Below: one basic wiring diagram, and one rudimentary DC volt tester (4xAA batteries/ holder/ two probes..all available cheaply from Ebay/ Amazon etc..). There is only one 3-pin connector in the wiring diagram. Disconnect it in at the turret, and put the red probe into
the red connector insert point, and the black into the outside black insertion point (not the middle..that's for airsoft). Movement/ whirring noise means elevate unit is OK...and time to celebrate. If not..you need a new one. It is possible to lose the 'pairing' on your Taigen transmitter, and that might scramble some functions., e.g., everything works but..'rotate' or 'fire'..or well, you get the picture. 'Imex-Erik' explains on Youtube how to rebind your transmitter to the tank...assuming, that is, that you're still using the Taigen stuff:- Note, while 'Imex-Erik" may sound like some sort of Dark Age Viking raider (like 'Sigurd Snake-Eye', and 'Ivar the Boneless'...real raiders), he's actually quite mild and helpful..

Hi Pebs
Just seen your post. I have 2 or 3 spare elevations motors in my bit box I'll bring them to the meet on Sunday and try and get you going again.
Denzil.
