Looks good in Green Scalawag...makes all your detail work "POP"....once you do your wash magic ...it will really tie everything together

Thanks ALPHA,

I'm pleased you like it. :D

The filters and washes should soften the colour a bit, and bring out the smaller details even further. I have decals to apply and detail painting to do before I get to the washes/filters.

Tracks and tyres are back on now too.

One thing I notice about green....highlighting and washing in most cases will darken it...I bought a lighter green to experiment on my 1/35th Chaffee...as the normal shade would always get to a dark olive once done
Will be interesting to see how your technique works out :D

Very nice work! It has been great to watch your progress, and the bolts on the side of the turret stand out nicely. Are you using Tamiya paints?

Cheers, Tom

I think its a green thing.
My Panther Zu-Fuss was spot on for colour before all the jazz that went on after, now I feel its to dark.
At least with German Dark Yellow it can be easily gauged for how much wash or filter to give it before its gone to far.

Funny how I still want to see a couple of metallic silver racing stripes down its centre and the driver with a Tartan on his helmet, or an S.Moss signature on the fume extractor :haha: :haha:

scalawag wrote: No ALPHA, on a project like this where I will be using filters and washes, and weathering I am always thinking ahead to the finished article, so the base colour will always be a few shades different to the colour I am aiming for. After a while you get to know how colours will change with different coloured filters added.

Thanks for the concern that I might have missed this though, I appreciate it. 8)

No worries Scalawag....got that from your first explanation  ...I do like the shade of green it's wearing now...but that could be due to thinking WW2...Nowdays everything "is" a lot darker reason I didn't mind the color change on my M1....not to mention your photo set of this tank is a darker shade of green ;) So all is good...and I do think this Chally will be looking fine once it's done

LOL...Funny you mention that...Dgsselkirk said putting racing stripes down the center of my M1 would assist in it being able to catch air....Didn't work...looked kind of Spiffy though :haha: :haha: :haha:

I agree Mr Hugill, these Chally's(as you locals call them) have caught my interest to the point where I went Googling.
Never realised these things had so many variants, armour packs and other accoutrements that make them so absorbing.

I was keen on an Abrams over a Leo as a break into modern, but the Challenger 2 has got me bad :problem:
