a week or 2 ago i succumbed to temptation and bought a asiatam lower hull from rc tank.de, partly cos i wanted one but mainly cos rob(fv432) and stewart(brel) had bought one each and their write ups convinced me that they are the dogs danglies, which they are. anyway i put off doing anything untill now, what i did was draw up a list of all what i was going to do to my Tiger whilst i had her apart, plus another reason i put it off is i was working on something else tank related which i will share with you all in due course.
anyway the list of jobs i intend to do to "205" are - rip off the rubber zimm' and re do it the "crispy" way with a soldering iron, which ive started, smooth off the flash marks on the suspension arms from the new hull, notch out the front tow shackle holders, cut up the turret so i can rebuilt it more to scale not quite sure how, but i will do it, move the main gun pivot point to where it should be by the front turret lifting eyes, do away with the elevation motor and replace with micro servo's, my elmod TLS has 2 servo sockets on it for this purpose, plus aload of weathering and detailing,
so far ive done the "crispy" zimm' on the upper hull, i must say it does look spot on, ive also removed the casting marks on the new suspension arms, and given them and the lower hull a good couple of coats of basecoat ochre yellow, this is the 1st time ive used a airbrush, and i think it dont look to bad considering. thats about as far as ive got so far, like i said earlier i'm working on something else tank related and thats been taking up a lot of my time, here's the photos of what ive done so far i hope you like them
