Your rehab of the 50 cal ammo cans look good.
Thought I'd show you a pic of what I meant about the color of the lenses. Here the left lens looks blue and the right one is reflecting the doghouse door.

Re: Another Abrams
In the model world hard to duplicate the real things reaction to light in pictures. That's part of what makes detailing and weathering a model more fun (and time consuming).
To even see the color of my lenses in a picture you have to take a real close up shot or aim some extra light source at them for the most part. Otherwise they look like black holes.

Yeah...the stand up handles were pretty cheesy on the M1...the lay down handles weren't too bad...but for me I said heck!...going to do some...may as well do them all lol....it got easier but the first few were...shall I say........Challengingscalawag wrote:ALPHA wrote:![]()

Like how everyone didn't do the grab handles............I left mine closed............though I should have added that gap covering in the center

Yeah this is the first H/L where I have felt that the grab handles are moulded crisply enough to get away with just a pin wash on them. Different of course for the Loaders hatch grab handle and the one on the left fender they need replacing. I hope the mouldings on the Chally II will be as good.
I don't know why H/L moulded the doghouse doors that way. I could probably have lived with the moulding if it didn't have that groove in the middle

The photos of the Chally makes me thing the casting might be even better than the M1...

If I were to make a wooden battle board, I would use scrap plywood which is easy to find lying around the house. Those would be already in damaged state so I can peel off the external layer. If none, I would use popsicle sticks glued together then thinly sliced like wot I did for my 1/35 M1 years ago. Of course that would mean buying ice cream to get the sticks so double win for me hahahahaha!scalawag wrote:Just ordered some .8mm and 1.5mm thick plywood sheets to try for the Battle board. I will try it out and see how it looks. I am hoping they arrive before Thursday as I would like to try this and have it in place for Tanked on Saturday.
Re: Another Abrams
Are there any new photos of the HL CR2 tank? Ate we going to wait for another 5 years? I don't see anything in their website of any upcoming release.

Re: Another Abrams
I just saw the discussion at General Discussion subforum. It. Really. Is. Happening. OMG.
Next year....

Re: Another Abrams
Popsicle sticks stained by chocolate ice cream makes for great way of bringing out the wood grain

This may be late but these are pics of the US 50 cal ammo can. This one has the date 1975 pressed into it's lid.
