Good morning,
Scalawag, your interiors are always neat and tidy. A thing to be desired! ;o) Nice that this version came with the idler brace. Those tracks are super sweet as well, no rubber pads flying off like some of the ones for the Leopards. Resin figures definitely have it going on. Following along.
regards,
Painless

Ah yes, that are much better pads on that tracks!

Is ONE pad, inside and outside?
Can they be removed or are they vulcanized?

Really cool!

EDIT: Sorry, bad reading... the answer was there already :{

Are those the braces that were included ?
Image
or is it just the tiny one on the front? Is the one in front connected to that metal panel that goes across the front hull? if not...that's a nice touch...it's pretty cool that HL did that at all ..they should have given that with all the M1s :D ....no problems with the TARR?....I had to make some 90 degree angled pipes...because the tubing would pinch and cut off the smoke

Good one on ya Scalawag...will be following along to see where this baby goes

scalawag wrote:Hi ALPHA,

The brace at the front comes with the platinum edition and just sits between the idler wheels. The centre brace is one I added after seeing what you and other had done here. No problems with the Tarr 1 smokes just fine with the set up in the pics.
You know what...I know why my Tarr hoses pinched...I made a smoke collector so the smoke would come out in a cloud ...instead of streams...just remembered that lol ...go figure :haha: ....Where did they put that brace?...I never opened my instruction pack...was it in there? I like that HL is paying a little more attention...something like that is really a stretch for them...did you notice they got rid of the third red eye? Thought that was a good move too :D

Their new productions seem good...can't wait for the Challenger to hit the market ;)

The JP400 motors are aftermarket or do they come with that gearbox?

I did not realize the IBU2 board is that big. That would really make me want to remove the battery compartment to free up more space in the tank. I also did not realize it still needs the HL electronics board...? Can you please take closer photos of the electronics setup? Plan on replacing the turret motor traverse mechanism to a servo? Also do you intend to put a slipring as well?

Yep, I'll go for this one ALPHA. Internal upgrades and tracks that Scalawag had put in just makes it a lot better. I will follow his lead on this one. Great and very helpful thread you guys have started here.

I was aware that the TARR2 refill pipe was liable to kink which is one of the reasons I opened the petrol cap on the drivers side nearest the Turret on my Tiger 1's
And using a piece of brass tube and a 4mm block of plasticard with the tube in one end and a tapped m5 thread in the other I slide the refill tube into the brass tube and having put an m5 thread in the filler cap location I have a tapered cross headed M5 screw as a flush fitting cap.
It is an easy modification and keeps the refill pipe straight and allows me to fill up the smoker through the working petrol filler cap.
I notice you havn't lost your talent for authentic looking MGs, very nice and as Painless said so tidy inside. shaun
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:
