Lipo battery size...

I get my lipos from Hobby King, and usually turnigy but I also have some zippy compacts. The 2200 mah will run my tank for at least a half hour, and I have two zippy 5000s that I've yet to drive long enough to set off the LVA (low voltage alarm). Even on boards that are lipo compatible I still use the LVA. They're less than $3 and it's cheap protection. If you take a look at this one it gives dimensions and the only tank I have that's got enough room for this is the Tiger, and it definitely will not fit in any tank with a bottom battery box. I don't have a Leo so I don't know how it fits that, but you can probably find the battery you run now at HK and that will give you the dimensions you're looking for.

Brian I go to E-BAY and buy my charger/ my batteries/ my battery connector adaptors and everything to do with batteries from "JG-MODELSPORT"
Because I use LI-POs in my 1/9 r/c aircraft as well as my 1/16 Tanks I find this dealer to be perfect.
At no extra cost they will change the connection on any battery you order on request to a TAMIYA or indeed whatever connector you ask for.
Of course anyone who uses lots of LI-POs will need connector adaptors and LI-PO bags, "JG-MODELSPORT" can provide them and a lot more, It is a BRITISH company and the postage is FREE!!!
I wonder why I keep going back to them. .
By the way I have no connection with them except for being a happy and satisfied customer.

I'm using a 4000mah lipo in my tiger. With a lipo alarm. Not really used it much to know how long the battery lasts on one charge.

You'll probably want to get measurements and check the battery sizes, especially given how small the Leo2 battery tray is. You'll be able to get something in their but you'll need to shop around and get measurements.

Lipos are not standard in size and come in lots of different forms like shorties, saddles, sticks, both hard and soft. Also remember the cheaper the lipo, the larger it is. Those Turnigy work but they're large and heavy for what they are. If you look at a Gens Ace or SMC of equivalent stats, they are smaller even in hardcase form - I have an SMC hardcase 3S which is about 3/4 of the size of a 3S turnigy and has better performance! Also, if you chance upon a hardcase which has the right measurements, check the plugs. Many hardcases have bullet connectors into the battery and stick out the top.
