gun barrel not moving up or down

Post by BigGaz »

Hi all very new to this so apologies if I posted this in the wrong section :).

I recently purchased a tiger 1 but I've found after I fired the first bb the gun barrel elevation has stopped working and I hoping that one of nice folk on here can help :)

HI BigGaz , Welcome to the forum by the way  - Personally , if the tank is new it would be best to inform your supplier about getting it exchanged as ' faulty ' because there are several things that cause this problem . It could be a broken connection ( loose wire ) in the tank or more seriously , the transmitter - I have had this happen as have others , there is no real fix for that , another Tx is needed . Otherwise you will have to open the tank and look , and that will negate the warranty
to the bouncy room ! Yay !

GAZ Hallo, I would take BLIMP's advise, if you bought it from a reputable dealer they should replace it without quibbling, but whatever the outcome please keep us updated. shaun

When you move the joystick to elevate can you hear the elevation motor running? If not sounds like a loose connection. ..

I've had two tanks like this. Both, the motor was seized. I had to remove the motor from the gear box and with the elevation lever pushed down on the controller, I than span the motor over with my fingers. Freed both up and work great now. If they are under warranty though, send them back

Yes do wait for your retailer to reply. I have a lot of HL's and I did receive one that had the arm from the airsoft mechanism that goes to the elevation cam that was snapped off.

If you don't get any joy from the dealer, come back and let us know. If the tab that connects the barrel to the elevation motor has snapped then the motor will turn but the barrel won't move, though that would be very rare. It can be fixed with a small piece of styrene and some glue. If the motor isn't running then it will be an easy soldering fix.

If everything else works then the transmitter, receiver and RX18 should be ok. If it still fires BB's then the circuit is ok as the airsoft works off the same circuit as the elevation.

Try a fully charged battery though, as a flat one causes all sorts of weird probs.
