Hi
We've just opened my son's new Heng Long Panther G this morning, everything was working fine, BB gun firing, and then it stopped.
We've probably fired 20-ish shots successfully then it stopped. The mechanism seems to be working, it makes all the right noises, and I can feel a pulse of air coming from the gun, but no BB. Cue sad son.
It sounds exactly like problem 1. described here:

The only solution I can find so far seems to involve disassembling the whole tank, like this:

That makes me a bit nervous, the talk about possibly breaking electrical connections. Any other possibilities?
NB. I've held it up side down, shaken it etc.

Minnsey you say you can feel a pulse of air from the barrel correct? I'd first start off by opening the commanders hatch and dump everything out and see if maybe you can see anything jammed in the feed ramp. You'll need a flashlight to get a good look in there. If you find the BB's themselves are jammed in there you may be able to get them loose by using a good old fashioned metal coat hanger or long screwdriver. Go in through the hatch and GENTLY see if you can get them to un-jam.
If this fails you will have to go in there and see what's jamming it if you don't want to return it to where you got it. If Jr just loves his tank and doesn't want to part with it just take it apart and have a go at fixing it yourself. Since it still shoots air I'm betting he packed too many BB's in there and jammed them.
I'm sure other members who have a Panther can tell you how to disassemble it correctly. Don't be scared it's not that hard.

Good Evening,
One of the best pieces of advice about the Airsoft tanks is not to use the prepackaged BB's that come with them. They are usually non uniform in weight and shape and are known for causing jams.
As soon as possible, go and get yourself some quality airsoft ammo. I use Glow in the Dark type 'tracer' ammo from Crosman. It's a lot of fun in a dark room or outside at dusk. ;o)
regards and good luck,

There's Happiness and light at the end of your tunnel.
The journey...
Ditch the HL airsoft shooting unit. Replace with the Taigen unit, it was redesigned in 2014. It is 99.993% compatible. Shoots better, more power, more accurate and most important more reliable shooting.
Here is the unit http://www.imex-model.com/product/TAG12 ... tml?cid=90
To swap:
The No Soldering method:
-Reuse the motor from the unit in your tank's unit now. https://youtu.be/DDYm7JS6Suw
Total unit replacement, requires soldering of 3 wires:
-Take pictures/notes before disassembly, noting point to point wiring, HL vs Taigen color code is a little different but circuit/electrical path is identical.
-Install new unit referencing your notes/pictures. Or come back here and post if issues arise (pics worth...)
Total unit replacement, none soldering:
-As above but cut and strip wires, wire nut or twist & tape or butt crimps.
I'd advise you get a 22 cal cleaning rod with lint free swabs and pure silicone spray. Clean the barrel while the battery is charging.
