I realised that just after I'd ordered from rctank.de, if it's what I want, I've got s Panther and a kv that I'd get one for each.
I don't really want to swop then around, one thing I've realised about taigen, henglong ect, the more you take the top off the more it conks out!!
But I guess it's quite realistic in some respects ;)

And I don't know about the barrel flash, I hope not, it's not stated that it doesn't work with the tagian flash unit, maybe someone on here could confirm that for us??

blimp wrote:Hello Tankalot , just a thought - if the battery is weak it could 'brown out' under load - i.e. firing the gun / the recoil jerk draws a lot of current momentarily - this could be making your board reset to the 'stand by' status that you describe . So it might just be a battery glitch ?

Checked that, it was my fault to drive the dam thing around with all the wiring ahoo in the tank, won't do that again!!

I cancelled that order, I really wanted complete plug and play, so I got an ibu2 board, it's more expensive, but it's supposed to work out the box, read the Clark needs fiddling with for taigen ir.
Also I got it from rctank.de, because I saw them on there a while back, I had no idea a guy on here does them, or I'd have got it there :'(
I'll let you know how it goes!
And thanks for the help
Just curious if your tank is IR or airsoft. I've heard that if IR Taigen, you will need one of his LED's for the barrel. I assume you ordered a TX and receiver also, what brand? Thanks

Joe

Don't know what make of tx rx, comes as s package, but I wish I'd have seen tankbear as the UK guy, he ties the transmitter to the unit for you, so completely plug and play

Hi Joe

If you can, get one, there great! And get it from tankbear at rctankelectronics
The radio and sound package would be set up for your tank by rctank.
I had a lot of fiddling to do to get it to work because I cocked up the sd card files, but tankbear was a star and helped me out hugely.
You do have to hook up the high intensity flash unit to a 3 pin connector, but if I can do it, anyone can, you just push in the retaining strip in on the back of the silver connector which is in the White 5 pin plugs, pull it out, and replace it into the 3 pin plug.

I may get a better set of speakers, and get the ad on sound control, you can plug two speakers in for engine on one, gun, mg, ect on the other, closer to the way more expensive elmod.

Have a good weekend!

HL 2.4 rx18 is in my first experience with it not very reliable unless not used in a tank with the same kind of bb shooting setup.
I just thought I had finished my new Abrams conversion to IR and recoil. After about 45 minutes of running ok everything started to stop working ok. The tank turning off after firing was one of the problems. The elevation motor burned out, replaced the motor in the unit, when trying to elevate gun the recoil would go off over and over again along with muzzle flash even when the recoil was not being used would get firing sound and muzzle flash at random times.
Changed to regular rx 18. not exactly a direct plug and play change. needed to put smoker and volume switches in tank. Had to make up antenna holders ( the ones on the tank are aluminum blanks ). the direction of movement of the tank was reversed when stick was pushed finally found that switching the two motor plugs to each others plug on the rx 18 made the stick work correctly. still working to get the thing to stop recoiling when the barrel is moved up and down although it is not as pronounced now, instead the recoil gets stuck ( Its a HE recoil unit ). Can't get headlights and taillights to work at the same time, its either one or the other. Starting to suffer severe brain fade as I've had the thing apart and thought I fixed all its problems about 10 times ever the weekend.
