Re: E-25 from Chris Ludwig
Merlin,
Go to the Ludwig site. There should be a manual with full instructions. You will need to do a little translating (unless you speak deutsch). Google has a good translator for free. Takes masses of text at once. Following along.
regards,
Painless

Re: E-25 from Chris Ludwig
What was the total price for this beast?
Re: E-25 from Chris Ludwig
Hi Jackalope yes this is still 1/16 scale, and the kit comes to the same size once completed as the Tiger 1.
Painless I've looked on the site and asked Chris but he hasn't written a set of instructions for this model as of yet.
Tom, the total price with all the ancilliaries and delivery came to around 512euros.

Re: E-25 Tank Destroyer Build Thread
So today I started construction on my E-25 Tank Destroyer.
It's deffinately going to be a challenge without instructions.
The metal lower hull fits together perfectly however the plastic upper is proving troublesome.
I think the main reason is due to the edges being square not bevelled and some of the part measurements are a little off.
However the kit quality is just amazing, Chris really does an amazing job.

Can anybody tell me what substance is used to make the weld lines as I think I may use that to seal the edges that are a bit off.
I have a late Tiger 1 cupola, Air Vents and Loaders Hatch, King Tiger exhausts, T34 Drivers Hatch, KV1 Angled Mirrors and some other parts I can't remember on the way.
Hope you all like so far? Comments, criticism and or advice always welcome.

Re: E-25 Tank Destroyer Build Thread
Hi Merlin I am green with envy
- what a super kit. Will follow the build for sure. Looking at the upper hull components and the way they appear together, I think you may have to shamfer the edges to get them to fit properly, otherwise the components will be too big if you just fill the gaps. If in doubt on this contact Chris before you start filing/sanding the edges off as I'm sure he will advise on the correct assembly method and most importantly - make sure the component is the correct way up before you start shamfering otherwise you will ruin the component. Regards Alwyn

Re: E-25 Tank Destroyer Build Thread
How are you going to attach the metal parts to each other? Aluminium solder?
For welds, you can use milliput (the yellow stuff I found is best, white fine is not as solid once dry) or green stuff. Personally for this i'd consider milliput as it bonds pretty well too.

Hi Merlin, here is a link to tips on how to solder aluminium:
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/planars- ... inium.html
Hope it's useful. It may be an idea to get a few spare tips for your soldering iron and sharpen them up, also it helps if the parts are securely clamped so the new joint has no movement until it hardens and cools. Alwyn
