Re: MG on Tiger I
I have a new problem in this project. I'm using metal wheels, tracks, sprockets and idler wheel. The tank is getting quite heavy, Today I tried the first run with it and I could not move it. I'm using Walterson´s Brass Gearbox. Someone had the same problem or have any ideas?

Cfred I thought the waltersons was designed to take added weight into account...since you posted some months ago i'm wondering what you did to fix the problem? I'd maybe remove most of the metal road wheels, or the inner ones only if possible and save some weight there? The product description i read said the waltersons gearboxes are "3 in 1" meaning you can swap sprockets to get the gear ratio that works? Nowhere in that ad copy though, did it say where you were supposed to get the needed sprockets, or whether they came with it in the packaging or not. I am almost, all set to buy mato mart KT metal wheels, suspection arms and springs, now your weight issues are giving me some serous second thoughts on that.
I hate to recommend spending even more money as a possible "solution" but RCdynasty on ebay, has the heng long Ultimate edition II gearboxes for around $70 shipped. As of today, 27 Jan 2015, they're on sale from RCdynastic for around $68 plus ship, if you can find them on ali express, someone has them for $100. (Mato mart on ali express does not even carry the Mato/Taigen 4 :1" gearbox sets anymore). The "Ultimate edition" have a full set of bearings on all axles and a more torquey motor...i added some 480 motors, I got from ebay 5 for $10, broke them in and oiled them, and screwed them in to my last set of steel gearboxes - and those motors have torque a' plenty, maybe even too much! Anyway though perhaps upgrading the motors on your Waltersons might be a fix?
that actually fit,

Sorry for the delay in responding. We are going through a difficult time here with the death of several relatives.
I was thinking of changing the wheels but I don´t wanto to give up of he metal wheels - they are very cool. So I bought with Christian Ludwig two Jamara engines 480. I'm making changes and hopefully solve the problems soon. Do you know how to use suppressors that comes with the engines?

Christian´s kits require a little more work, but are great , especially for those who want to build a specific tank model. I'm building the TIger as a very initial production unit . The Christian kit has been perfect for that.
