If I had the money to buy one I'd definately find the space to put it even if it meant disassembling my bed and slept on the couchAd Lav wrote:Nice!

Hi Tim
Glad to see you have come over to the dark side and gone large.
The brass L section I used came from B&Q and is 8mm x 8mm. I trimmed about 3mm off the back edge so in fact it's actually 8mm x 5mm. To fit the L sections I first added short sections of brass rod into the existing top of the glassis plate, these act as additional reinforcing. The L section is cut into 2 lengths sized to fit either side of the drivers periscope and then glued in position keeping the front angle flush with the existing glassis. When the adhesive dries I then skim the joint with body filler to get a invisible joint.
Hope this helps
Steve

Hi Ice, No, I just got rid of something that had been kept in my garage for the last 10 years.
That gave me the room and cash to get the Panther.

Hi EdPanzer, Getting on pretty well. just got a pile of new parts delivered today including Cleaning tube, working barrel lock, jack block and mud guards.
These parts were over £200.
I still need to order a new set of tools and C shackles which will be another £60.
I can now make a start on the zimmerit on Saturday as planned.

Re: 1/6 Armortek Panther G
Hi all, Thought it about time i gave you guys an update as ive made loads of progress in the last few weeks.
I have just got a few more detail jobs to do, no really this time.
Ive got 4 more parts to fit and then start painting.
The Zimmerit was applied a few weeks ago and i think it went well, although i should have added a much darker shade of paint into the mix because it was the right colour when whet bust still dried far too light a colour. It should be the colour of a hob nob biscuit.
Anyway, you can see from the pix pelow how it was applied and what it loks like after a coat of red primer.
Be aware that this is the Daimler Benz style which was quite rough and course when compared to the Man or MNH styles that you normally see.
Here are a few detail shots:
