Re: panther g late production
I did think about sorting the lift hooks, but it seems like alot of work for not a great deal of aesthetic reward! Although I may add the missing hooks! Cheers

Well done a quick add of the tools tonight, remove the moulded in brackets, shortened the tow cables to fit, added the jack block and gun cleaning tube and spare tracks to see how it all fitted, its all got to come off again to be detailed with brackets/ handles/ hangers but I like the look lay out so far!

Re: panther g late production
Been working on tool brackets using a coke can and weld lines with Zimmerit and my craft knife tonight here's the pics
Tools test fitted
I may not bother with any more weld bead as its hassle for not much reward! Also added handles to the gun cleaning tube, got some latches on the way so will be adding those to the rear storage bins and some of the tools, some more work on the rear panel next too. Will start work on the spare track hangers this week to, just waiting for some bits to arrive

Re: panther g late production
Well been sweetie since my last post on the panther, not really done much more detail work on it accept to add some more tool brackets then straight to paint! Decided I wanted a dirty/ rusted used and abused look, was going to use Tamiya painted but they seem an expensive so seeing as I had some spray cans lying around thought I would use them! Not really going for historically correct colour here, so here's the picks!
Used Halfords oxide red primer, to be fair this is the best primer I have ever used, so highly recommended!
First coat here, used 'vauxhall leaf green' to be fair it likes more like a Russian t34 sort of colour but I like it!
Now I tried my hand at salt weathering for that rusted / peeled / bubbling paint look
Think out turned out ok, used some pastels ( not fruit) to add to the rust and dust look, also used a matt lacquer to time down the green when, a bonus to this was that in some areas the lacquer reacted with the green ( I have no idea why, prob because one was for cars and the other for pictures!) but its produced a nice bubbled and weathered effect!
Not sure if I will do much more to it now, maybe metal running gear and I have added a mako 2 for IR compatibility with everyone else, enjoy.

Yeah am thinking leave this and the tiger alone and try the airbrush out in something new, but I can't decide what to get! A panzer IV king tiger or I had even flirted with the idea of a Sherman as my wehrmackt needs something to shoot at!

Well I might be the worst person to ask for advice on what to get...but I'd put off on the Panzer IV ...though I really like them... no matter what brand...they all seem to need attention...the KT on all levels is a great tank...no matter which one you get (meaning brand)...but if you want to tinker a bit...and love to do research...yes... indeed go for a Shermanspongehoobtank82 wrote:Yeah am thinking leave this and the tiger alone and try the airbrush out in something new, but I can't decide what to get!
