Any guess on the most produced HL Tank.?? Tiger ??

Post by BIGMIG »

I got to think HL has produced more 1/16 Tigers than any of there other models---Seems like everyone has at least one,and most seem to have bought a tiger as their first model.I know I have five of them myself, and bought two others for my sister for her to give as gifts to here family members.I would guess the Panther and PZ III would be the next biggest sellers for them.??

I'd have to agree - its been in production the longest and its one of the iconic tanks of WW 2. The Pershing and M41 are not really well known tanks, both having brief active service careers in relatively obscure wars (Korea for the Pershing, Vietnam for the M41). Also the Tiger (and Panther) are available relatively cheaply on Ebay, where as the later models command a higher price - I bought my first tank (the Panther) because it was cheap, and if it turned out to be a pile of crap it would have been no big deal. The fact that it wasn't made me come back for more :o ;D
(ok so its a terrible model of a Panther, but its still a good runner!)

Always thought it was a bit wierd HL picked the pershing and bulldog as previously said, not the first tanks that spring to mind when you talk about favourites. Must have had something to do with the production methods perhaps?

Got to be the tiger, It was my first tank as well. I only have one at the mo but thinking of getting another so I can have an early and late version. There's something about them, big solid, functional, typical German thinking, gotta love em ( only as a model though, wouldn't have fancied sitting in a sherman and have one pointing at me!)

Yep my first HL was a non S&S Tiger which is now almost a Sturmtiger. And I'm thinking to get another one to do as a late Tiger 1. I know that Rocketman and his son must have owned 3-4 of them over the years. I think its well worth the money and you dont HAVE to spend loads on upgrades to get a decent tank. Saying that if you're a tweeker then its propberly the tank for you  ;)
