Amazing work as always Lert! Wished i held on now and ordered a set of them markings! They look great compared to issued ones.

Just how hard is it to relocate the aerial Lert?

Cheers.

Not so much 'hard' as having to be patient, careful and brave.

What I did was:

- Cut off the very bottom and very top of the antenna
- Took a thin needle heated it red hot (using the stove and some pliers), using that to to poke a hole through the model's antenna mount
- Fed the antenna length through the hole, leaving ~12cm sticking out above the tank
- Superglued the antenna into the mount and plasticglued the mount onto the JP's superstructure
- Bent the rest of the antenna around inside the hull
- Cut off the end of the receiver's wire and stripped it
- Connected it to the antenna using one of these (I don't know the english word)
- Used pliers to force out the HL antenna mount on the back of the engine deck, leaving an unsightly hole
- Filled up the hole with green stuff (two-component modeling putty)

So all-in-all the antenna is now in it's historical spot, but ~3cm shorter than it was before. I doubt that'll affect its functioning and range very much, as I understand an RX's antenna's length isn't as critical for performance as a TX's. I'm not entirely sure about that though.

The part you need bravery and courage for is in heating up a needle and poking / melting a hole through the antenna mount, and in mutilating the engine deck with sturdy pliers when removing the HL antenna mount.

Blimey Lert!

I'll definately have to pluck up the courage to give that a go! I have all the equipment needed here including some small chock blocks ( English word) ;) .

Thanks very much for the precise instructions my friend.

cheers.

Small update: re-posed and painted the commander figure.

All german HL tanks come with the same commander figure in the same pose, and since that would turn out boring I decided to try my hand at re-posing my JP's commander figure. The pose might looks very similar to the original pose, but I had to cut both arms in three places, file away excess material and do some minor sculpting with green stuff to get them to look good enough in this new pose, leisurely holding some binocs in front of him as if he'd just used them.

As for painting, my Pz IV's commander figure is painted in SS black, and I wanted to mix things up a bit, so I decided to apply a camo scheme to my JP's commander figure. And a moustache. All rockin' men rock rockin' staches. .... Hey, my Pz IV's commander has a fat cigar, so why not a 'stache on this guy?

I used this picture as inspiration / basis for my commander's camouflage scheme:

I have no idea how historically accurate it is, but it certainly looks ace, and I'm not a rivet-counter to begin with.

So without further ado, here's Fritz Baumgartner:

PS #1: If you value your eyesight, don't paint a whole figure with small camouflage in one sitting. x.x

PS #2: If you disagree with my assessment that all rockin' men rock rockin' staches, too bad. I've got a beard, which gives me license to say that. :D

PS #3: ... Yes, that seems to be the correct location for the commander. As far as I can figure out, this is where everyone sits in a JP:

Lert he looks fantastic!! And certainly agree with you on the tausche/beard as i also sport one! Lol!
Great idea repositioning his limbs, he looks like he's just spotted a enemy on the horizon and is about to carry out his orders to destroy!!
im awaiting on a couple more figures for mine to bulk my crew up abit.
Keep up the great work my friend. ;)

I haven't put the MG anywhere, yet. There is no 'proper' place on the JP for that MG. I might just put it in stowage on my Pz IV, or keep it for possible stowage on the JP.

I don't know where the L shape pins go, I haven't used those either. I think I threw them in the bin actually - I figure that if they are needed for something I can easily fashion them out of iron or copper wire from work.
