Hi Canned and thank you for the kind words.

Don't give up my friend I have been a modeller for the better part of 35 years now, it takes time to acquire the knowledge and skills in this game, and there is always something which is not quite right or could be better. No matter how good you get you will always look at the the work of others and think it is better than your own.

Just keep having fun with it.

Take care old chap

Got me a bit perplexed..............why would it be deemed necessary to padlock the turret hatches from the outside ?
Do you think the factory boys were concerned for the illegal trafficing of illicit substances, or that the crew might zip out to do a bit of sight-seeing once in theatre & wish to make sure their T.V's were there when they got back ????!!!!!
Was there a vibrant market for "stolen Tigers" and they were converted to street racers with new VIN details !!??
Just a concept I never really pondered on................I know the Russians had a booming market for Tiger jacks if my subject pic is anything to go by !!!!!

Sensational work mate, the patience to pull together all those clasps.................you could be lined up for 'canonisation' for service and miricles in modeling !!

Paul this is really a lovely build and I am so pleased that I am not the only person to mount the starting handle on the rear panel, I had seen as I am sure you had, the mounting point in pictures of models of it being just to the rear of the turret by the ariel, but it seemed obvious it would be where it was most needed. And don't worry about the lack of padlocks, Hermann has a problem with a crew member Gefreiter Griffin a well known drinker and while he has always denied stealing the jack, funny how he has never been without a bottle of Jack Daniels and that on a Lance Corporals wages. Now all you have left is the worry of whether to fight with it or park it up as a shelf queen. :D shaun
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Hi Shaun,

This is definitely a battler, it has a Tamiya compatible system already fitted. That said I battle them quite infrequently so my tanks have to satisfy my eye while they are sitting on the shelf too. :D

I believe the early tigers had a one piece handle for the inertia starting system as I have modelled here. Late Tigers have a 2 piece stater handle with the handle itself being stored by the arial, and the shaft still being clamped to the bottom of the rear panel.

I have now put padlocks on the stowage bin  , as I was worried by Hermans talk of thieving partisans :O , little knowing the the problem might actually be Gefreiter Griffin. 8O 8O

Go on Micky,

You know you want too @) @)

i'm not surprised that WEM have sold out at the price they were asking. Exceptional value  :thumb up:

If you are thinking of getting the Voyager Mid Tiger top deck PE set then that has a set of the late clamps included. This is the set that also gives you the stowage bin clasps etc...

Good Morning,
It is even more amazing that the good Gefreiter has a bottle of Bourbon from a country that he is currently at War with. Must have been 'liberated' from some Officer's tent?

Painless
