Hi Mike and welcome:

I'm always happy to see another tanker from the states. Back east in Pa. (and from what I gather, the rest of the country as well) we are but a chosen few. I wish we had the level of participation here that our associates in other countries enjoy. Although I have only been a member for a few months, I want to echo what others have said about this site being a great source of information and help. Absolutely true!

RC tanks are a great hobby, and I get as much enjoyment from building (or should I say repairing) as I do in actually operating them. I'm finding out that a model tank is like model railroading.... you're never really finished with what you're working on.

Have fun.

palepainter wrote:Thanks again. I have no tanks yet. I have one one the way right now from Canada. They are not as numerous here in the US as you may think. I have found two different HL distributors here in the US, but they did not have what I wanted in stock. So I found a place in Ontario, Canada called The RC Dynasty on Ebay. I purchased a Super version IR ready Panther.
Hello again palepainter... Have you tried MIDEATECH or HE-N-SHE both have free shipping to the contiguous 48....really fast and friendly... I've had nothing but great experiences with them...I just got a new full metal T 34 from MIDEATECH... and I got it in three days..I had to pay a little more for shipping.. but it was worth it just because how fast they responded...There's a couple others that operate out of CALI ... but they don't consider HAWAII a state.. so don't ship here..
With that said...they do ship free... and in general their tanks are few dollars less
Unfortunately yes RCDYNASTY is the only continent based operation that offers the IR option on their tanks...but I'm sitting on the fence with those guys..I haven't ordered anything large from them... just a few parts to test their performance...and right now ... they are just OK

It's good to hear your experience with them was good though... shows they have promise

I grew up in PA. I lived in Erie for the first 18 years, then Marshalls Creek/ Stroudsburg for some time before moving out west 20 years ago or so.

I have a small RC plane fetish, thought I would give this a shot as I was a big gamer. Love the craftsmanship in the hobby.

One of the biggest advantages of R/C Tanks is that if you do get out of range of the tank it does not at full speed fly vertically into a lump of concrete. Take care. shaun

Hi Mike:

I'm familiar with Marshall's Creek as I graduated from East Stroudsburg State years ago. One of my daughters lives near Fort Collins (Windsor), and we get to come out wet every so often.

It really is a small world.

Enjoy your tank modeling experience.

I worked as a bartender at Shawnee Inn in Water Gap. :) Use to hang out at Floods on Main. Spent a lot of time at the Frazetta museum studying art. Windsor is about 25 min from me. When you get out this way, you need to bring a tank. There is a decent contingency of tankers out here from what I gather.

Best wishes,
Mike

No, they don't fly full speed into concrete, but they can take out a bunch of your neighbor's tulips before you can get to it. :O

Don't ask how I know.
