What a Beauty

Thanks for the vote of confidence Derek... but it's been a very long while since I've done that kind of kitbashing...and still being green under the collar as far as RC tankery goes.... to make the tank function properly would be my problem...the upside to it is... It is a good challenge... and if I'm lucky enough to find all the components I might just go for itRed Devils wrote:Buddy, I bet you could do it now. Some solid reseach and practice and you would have a quality tank. I bet the tanks you have now are great...

Hello Dietrich....Yes what you say is true... it was a poor design.. too heavy.. and bad electrical ... I think the Elephant was a better solution for that chassis ....Dietrich wrote:Hi Alpha,
It would certainly be a nice project.....Not a very good design for the time, too complicated, but at least one DID make it into combat on the Russian Front... as a commanders tank.
.
Interesting in the first photo that the spare track links are stored Behind the early panzer IV style turret storage box.

Thanks Edwin...In my mind I have an idea how I would go about it..... it's just the feasibility of the build... as i would need at least two tanks to build that one....and Hopefully if i did do it...the price of the two tanks wouldn't be astronomically absurdEdwin wrote:Hi Alpha
this tank you can find here and if you want to build it largely scratch, Do you think the individual chassis components and chains in this shop even in an all-metal design. And call.

I agree... I watched it several times,,,,Those Japanese model builders are very good... their supply of model making supplies is amazing..... as I've seen the methodology before.. in different genre's of the Hobbysassgrunt wrote:I think this has always been my favorite tank, (and it's called a VK 45.01 (P) by the way). There is a kit for it by Christian Ludwig, which was the only game in town before Hooben brought out their Elefant. The video link you posted was very enjoyable to watch, as it showed what he did to kitbash it. I wish he would have used the earlier (non-reinforced) mantlet in the build; but I'm just being picky - he did a great job! -Mike
