Hi from suffolk! And help needed!!
Hi from suffolk! And help needed!!
Hello everyone.
Ive been directed here from another helpful forum. To cut a long story short, I was almost completely legged over by nitrotek at Xmas with a dodgy taigen metal upgrade tiger. My poor son has been going spare for 6 months waiting for the financial side to be sorted which has (hopefully) now been sorted!
So, your help please. My budget is max £200. Which Tank do i buy for my son (9years old)
Thankyou!!!
Rob

I would be looking at the Heng Long Panther G. It is the most complete out of the box tank I know of as your 9 yr old isn't going to be wanting to modify it. Buy a set of upgrade gears with the 3 to 1 ratio and a bigger battery and your job is done. Let the little guy run it till he falls asleep.
Second option would be the Panzer IV.
Others may have a different opinion so do your reviewing, check some web sites for pricing then buy it from steve at welshdragon or Forgebear on ebay. I have yet to see a negative post for either one of those sellers. You will come to see product support is worth it's weight when RC Tanking.
Welcome to the forum as well.

Welcome Rob, I agree with FreakyDude any of the Heng Long tanks would be fine obviously some are dearer than others. Maybe show your son a couple of pics of them and see which one he likes.
My 2 boys love the little Stug 111 and the Tiger 1, but theres a few to choose from.
Good Luck mate,
Ken

TBH , the Tiger 1 , although relitively cheap can be troublesome , as it is very complex and the rear ( idler ) wheel attachments break easily . One other thing - regardless of which model you decide on , try and get an RX 18 version , they are much better - more controllable . Both sellers mentioned will do their best to sort you out , they really are great guys

to the bouncy room ! Yay !

I'd be biased and get something a bit more modern. He's more likely to stay interested if he can actually see a large version of his tank driving around. Or chose an Allied tank from WW2. The Nazi stuff might be a bit extreme for someone of that age, he may get the wrong idea of what the war was about. Just my opinion, not intending to offend anyone.
