Since I'm still awaiting some AM sets, I've started on some odds and ends of my first 1:16 RC build. Normally I build 1:35 static and I tend to loose focus when my vehicle is finished, so the figures and stowage is always finished in a hurry to finish things up. To avoid this, I STARTED this time with these items, so when the vehicle is finished, I just have to throw 'em on.....
It's not much to look at yet, but hey....it's a start!!

Have you seen Nick Aguilar's resin transmission cover and hull? He offers the M4A1 and the M4A3. You did a great job cleaning up the "vanilla" Tamiya parts up. They are so out dated and it is sad for a company that been so cutting edge for the modeling industry. I never understood why they chose the M4 105 variant being it's one of the unusual variants. I see you caught the notch on the right front, ( left if you're facing it.) For the cast texture I used Mr Dissolved Putty from Mr Hobby. You can stiple it on with an old brush, then you can knock it down a bit with 320 paper. I used it extensively on my turret and to touch up places on the M4A1 cast hull. I see you have a penchant for figures. I do a lot of them as well. Great job by the way. By the way, where did you get the raised numbers you applied on the transmission cover?

@Dan: The raised numbers are from Archer fine transfers, from their fantastic line "surface details" In plain language, they are resin casting numbers in several scales, you can't do without when you go into Sherman-modelling. BTW they do weld-beads in different scales as well. I'm not sure if it's allowed to post a link here, but a simple google will do the trick I guess. The casting structure on the nose is quite subtle, and I'm planning to beef this up with some Mr. Surfacer.
Is there a way to contact Nick Aguilar, or has he a kind of a webstore, 'cos I hear a lot from his stuff, but wasn't able to find any....
