Hi from sunny Grantham!

Post by thejunkman »

hi everyone, although l used to run 1/16 tanks a few years back its sort of taken a back seat due to my other interest..metal detecting.
The old bones are not what they used to be, so l`m looking at starting modeling stuff again.

l just bought a 1970s Tamiya Leo A4 to restore and need various parts. Looked around for r/c tank clubs and found you guys :)

Although l`m probably not in the newbie class, having dabbled before, but l`m certainly not an expert!

All the best guys,

Karl

Hi Karl,
Welcome to the Forum
You will find this a very friendly place, if you have any question feel free to post them or just use the search box that is located in the top right hand corner or the main forum banner at the top of the page.
I think that most of the areas in the UK have probably been 'Metal Detected Out' by now so real 'Finds' are becoming harder to locate. I live in France and whilst I do not think that there were any REAL battles near me, I keep meaning to ask if any of the locals know of any areas that the Germans stayed in. My bit was 'occupied France' and I know that there was a garrison....but the French seem to be a bit 'Reluctant' to discuss the period 1940 to 1945.......I have NO IDEA WHY this should be ;) ........even the nice posters in the Mayors offices etc, which show the previous Presidents have a 'gap' in this period...... strange but true. If I do find any sites I will have to borrow you metal detector......
