I was looking for a non standard vehicle to go with my U.S. tanks and come to the idea of the M8 but it doesn't exist so lets go I start to make it using a small rc 4x4 with turet made in china for electronics componants.

First step I started with 3mm plastic board using a 1/35º model as reference:

hmmm that looks like a plan, my hobby room hasn't seen one of those before lol

great start. one easy trick I do is copy a drawing where I know the scale is close to what I want then scan it and just blow up the pic using percentages in photoshop or whatever program I have access to. even MS Word you can use.
Anyway good luck on your build and keep the pics and explanations of your steps coming.
We have the pot on and the popcorn coming.

thanks for your comments, I've try with drawing but to have a realistic model like for the M8 who have a lot of small parts and or angle I prefered to start from an existing model like 1/35º

Hmm I thought about this a while ago but got plenty on the go. I have also had drawings blown up to 1:16 . That's how I made my Hetzer . I have also done it the way you have with a 1:35 kit. I started a Styer RSO that way (must get back to that ). I'm also into 1:6 and have a 1:35 250 ausf.B (Neu) half track I'm measuring to build a 1:6 version , but also have some scale drawings. Another project is a 1:35 20mm flack gun that I'm going to scale up to make the shields and trailer for my Dragon 1:6 20mm flack gun . Good luck with the build . You might be able to use parts of the WSN (I think) US half track on this , wheels steering ?

I have placed the streering system and equiped it with Hobby Engine electronic's. Why Hobby Engine electronic's? Just because the 2 engines are working seperatly, it have sound and turret engine too. I modify it to use 1 engine for the transmission, the other one for the turret and the engine normally used for the turret for the steering.

I put it into the base to check if everything fit well, the on-off switch will be located under driver's hatch and the engine cover can be removed for battery access

Looking good mate . It looks as cramped as my Hetzer in there with all those electronics.
