Hi folks!
Mike here.
Built a 1/35th scale Tiger 1 after a break from tanks of about 35 years. Got the bug again and wanted something bigger. I thought that a R/C was a definite and I have always loved the Tiger so threw some money at the Heng Long Tiger. Got it delivered Monday. Got batteries for it Tuesday. Ran it round the garden for about 1/2 an hour and found all the normal weaknesses in the design. Today took it to bits and started my investigations. Just before logging on to here I spent one and a half times the cost of the original tank on upgrade parts. Heading the right way so far.
May soon be asking some, maybe obvious questions and some possibly dumb ones, so bear with me. My view is you are never too old to learn and ask questions as ignorance is no excuse ( according to the law ).
I have been building static wooden square rigged sailing ships for the last 14 years and have learnt a fair bit about it so if there are any members who are thinking of diversifying into ships and want some tips? I am happy to trade info!
So build on McDuff!

Hi and welcome to the forum Miketherock.
I like how your throwing yourself into fixing the Tiger. Theres loads of upgrades available for it so will keep you busy finding perfection in it. I've two HL Tigers, one reasonable standard
and the other just about everything replaced at a cost of ten times the purchase price
so don't be afraid to ask questions as we've been there and happy to share the knowledge.
Ian.
