Many of you would know about the late model Panther G having a mod
to its mantlet with a chin added, this was to stop rounds deflecting down
into the drivers compartment.
It seems there are two versions of this, the Suhumo after market mantlet
has a couple of small rectangles of steel welded on the side and a casting
line running along its front. Link to Suhumo mantlet below.............

The Impact one does not have these, from what I can make out they are
both correct I believe only the prototype chin mantlet had these couple of
additions, the production chin mantlets did not. Link to Impact mantlet below...

So here is my question am I correct?
Thank you...............
Panther G question?
Re: Panther G question?
those small rectangles where there to attache an extra IR lamp. They couls be welded on but this wasn't the case all the time. The late mantlet with chin wasn't either placed all ways on the G type (take a peek at my model, build in september 1944, but with an early type).
So to sum it all up. Everything was possible.
Hope to have cleared it out for you a bit?
