Hi all I recently bought a Mato Sherman and was wondering about converting it over to HL hardware as the current stuff is obsolete. Can anyone let me know what I will need to give it life again ?
Regards

Re: Mato Sherman
Hi there I have a friend on here who has done the conversion you basically need to get the RX 18 board and the receiver and the handset! Pluse all the wires. Now if you look on eBay you can get an rx18 with all the wires and with the reciver for around 22.00 ish then you need the hand set around £9.99 so basically for around £35.00 the conversion can be done! There will be some soldering involed to finish but that's it!! Hope that helps you! Plus it's stug85 that's done the conversion so any probs drop him a pm and he will sort you out! Best regards Gary. Oh were are you north or south!

Thanks for your help Gary. I'll have a look on Ebay. I am up in Wabush Labrador . We got 30 cm of snow stuff yesterday.

Ive done the conversion to the rx 18 and its really simple and its really quite simple just make sure you have the 8 pin connector that you can mount on the upper hull so you can plug the rx 18s cable into it. I did mine with the internals from a cheap ebay buy that had the rx i8 in it and just tor it out and put it in the mato. It runs much nicer but The mato sound was more authentic'

Re: Mato Sherman
i have done 4 mato shermans to hl smoke and sound ,and a wsn t34/85 to hl smoke and sound ,if you need any help on it ,tell me what you need , its not as easy as some say ,the mato works on switching negatives and heng long on switching pos, also you have to modify the elevation gear ,as the mato goes back and forth two commands from the transmitter ,but hl has one command and goes round and round which makes the gun cycle up and down. bit of cutting but can be done .there's room for a smoke machine and the holes are in the hull back for the pipes ?strange
