tiger 1 problems

Post by hue city »

have been unable to log on now for weeks as my records were in error---

i guess it is an "age thingy"---

anyways i have some problems as below

#1. this is a hl tiger 1---as the turret rotates clockwise and counter clockwise it sticks against something at the 90 degree position --once past this point it goes ok---how do i separate the turret from the main panzer body--there must be some simple procedure--and "yes" i do have a fries crane to lift the turret !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#2. this is tiger 1 tamiya full option kit that i bought about two years ago--i could not fault the kit at all---the transmitter and receiver i bought as a package--it is an "acoms technplus 4fm"--the panzer is now fully assembled with the turret just sitting on the hull--all electrical work is complete--the test procedure during construction was good--i have powered up the tx--and then the rx in the panzer--i can hear the speaker humming-and hear it start up and shut down--and i can see the operation indication light flashing green on the mfu ---plus the light for cn7 also on the mfu is glowing----after that nothing at all ---at first i thought the batteries were flat so they have been charged up---no change---i have a large model area in my workshop so conditions are good and having worked in engineering and built a lot of models i work to a good standard--check and treble check everything etc etc ----i suspect this is "operateing ignorance"--as this is my first panzer rc build--all help appreciated--best wishes--hue city

Not an age thing at all... On the HL Tiger the turret is meant to stop at 6 o'clock to prevent the barrel hitting the aerial. Besides, if it kept turning the wires would snag inside eventually. In order to detach the turret you have to remove the upper hull first. The rest is quite straightforward...

Its not too unusual in my experience for the wires to snag in HL tanks. I don't have a tiger anymore so can't check the screws, but I recall there were 6-8 screws on the chassis bottom as well as some less obvious ones hidden by the tracks. Once these are undone the chassis will separate then you can 'dress' the cables.

Not too sure on your other problem but it may be that the receiver setup with the MFU is not done/ not done properly? You have to 'teach' the Receiver/ MFU the joystick positions in accordance with the instructions.

Hi mate,
Do the basic setting up procedure again and see if it all starts working, I have same radio gear as you and same Tam Tiger 1.
I had to swap some of the receiver wires around as the labelling on them was wrong(little silver tags with numbers on) and all works fine now.
Even got the MG and Main gun on push to close switches mod on the radio.
