Post by slaychild »

Does anyone know of a quick release for the hull of the HL Tiger? I know asiatam sells a lower hull with it, but I dont wanna spend that much money. I want to try and make it or see if anyone make an add on for the plastic hull. Thanks

I use rare earth magnets on all my tanks.....If you look at this pic, the long tubes where the hull screws are supose to be, I have gluded the magnets in place....

the second shot shows one magnet in place and one tabe ready for a magnet....

I got the magnets from amazon.com....cost $15 for 100....

Warning...these do a fine job of holding the tank togather but if you like to crash through buildings, you can dislodge the upper hull. I have run one tank through 4 full IR battle days and only had the hull dislodge once when I drove the tank through a fake x,mas tree.....I think I would have damaged turret if it did not dislodge....so I was not unhappy about it.

I forget...I think they were 3/8th dia and not very thick.....maybe 1/16th......just mesure the pads they fit in.....with rare earth magnets, the have a number to tell how strong they are...the higher the number, the stronger they are....anything ober 40 is pretty strong...50 is like glue.

That's a brilliant idea, I have the quick release hull on my Tiger but think I will do that to all my others, its a real pain having to get to the screws on the bottom to open them up.
