BB Gun Switch Stuck

Post by phantom_270 »

Hey All,

I recently bought my first tank, a HL Tiger I, but Australian Law won't allow the BB Mechanism to operate :'(

After opening it, I realised all they have done is glued the BB switch in the off position with superglue.
I've tried cutting through it, and trying to shatter the glue, with no avail.
My work sells hobby de-bonder, so I might try that. Is it a good idea? I'm a little concerned it might leak down and screw up the switch.
Also, is it relatively easy to get to this switch, so I can replace if need be?

Being a little bit of a badass here :D

all you need to do is buy a smoke unit switch like this one
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... RK:MESE:IT

its the same Switch with a plug on it, just cut the plug off slide the plastic adapter off (used to mount it in the smoke swotch mounting points) and solder it in where the old wires where and use a hot glue gun to fix it in on the original pins in the turret.

all done :)

It's fixed now. Instead of buying a new switch, I just stripped the tank, and cut the two wires leading into the switch, and wired them together, so that it bypasses the switch and is always 'on'. This should be okay shouldn't it? It's not as if it's constantly firing, it's just constantly ready to be fired.
