An effective and simple way to paint wood. First paint the part with a light buff color, then using 200 grade wet and dry paper cut a small piece and roll into a thin tube for rigidity and draw down over the painted part. This adds a wood grain effect into the plastic. Then using an old stiff brush, ( I find one of those mega cheap ones one would normaly find in Oil paint sets works best) paint Burnt umber oils allong the previously applied grain effect. Quickly wipe off leaving only a thin layer of paint. Then streak Raw Umber paint over the top of this and carefully blend in. Cut and scratches can be also applied, but should be added at the start before scratching with wet and dry.Tube acrillics can be used instead of Oils for quick drying.
