Post by calzoe68 »

hi
i bought a set of Asiatam track tension adjustors for Heng Long Tiger 1. came with no instrusions !
i have seen a number of guides on the forum but what i do not understand is i have talen off my rear plastic idlers these were held on via a screw.with the set came 2 sets of 2 lenghts of metal pins but i cannot see how to attach my wheels to the adjuster with these pins? i know the pins go into the adjuster through the middle of the one half of wheel and are held in via the grub screw but the wheel its self is still loose and floppy on this axle . can anyone please help with pics if possible . thanks

Not sure of the missing parts issue,Seems your missing the bushing,or don't have the correct type of bolt?

Which vender did you use, because their is a very good reason we use certain venders, they send the right parts each time.

But I tried with the instruction to use the stock bolt. Well it will come loose, the method I have used here secures the wheel, and the tracks have not left mu Jagdpanther since this modification.

The Tiger is the same, and this will work, but you have to find the bolt and tap. I am fortunate and have many resources like hardware and tooling.

Before you spend to much money you might consider the Asiatam.Taigen Tiger lower hulls,Welshdragon has them on sale for 49'95. and they solve all the Tiger lower hull issues,my Hull is almost two years old and has never thrown a track or failed to give excellent service.

If further help is needed please pm me.

Hi Alan

Simple answer is you cant fit the plastic HL to the Asiatam. The HL use 5mm shaft and Asiatam 4mm it is ment to be used with their metal idle wheel.

An option is to get some 5mm brass tube with an internal hole of 4mm from B&Q cut that down and use that over the supplied pins.

Or buy the metal idle wheels which will better in long run anyway.

I know it is a pain buying parts for your model only to find the replacement uses a different size. I get a lot of my stuff from Welsh Dragon Models and email before I buy to make sure bits wil fit together. Steve knows what he sells and wont mislead you.

Hope that helps.
