Are Heng Long tanks *meant* to be serviceable?
I was wondering. I see everyone on here doing great work. Do these tanks come apart as say, a hobby grade RC does? Or is it not designed to be fixed/modded?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Hi, You can open hl tanks with a simple tool set ,spare/upgrade parts are easy to get on line I can not think of any spare that are not out there. Good luck with it . It can take over your life !

One more quick question. I want to buy the HL King Tiger with IR. Would that be compatible with the Tamiya IR systems? Thanks!

no....you need to get a upgrade of some sort....you want to see the insides of a hl kt....look at my e50 build....I pretty much tear one apart for the work....
Re: Are Heng Long tanks *meant* to be serviceable?
So should I just get the non-IR version and then later purchase the Tamiya system and use that? Man, you guys are so friggin helpful. Sorry for all of the questions!

look around this site.....
http://rctankwars.com/
watch the vids ect
the guy that runs it is named phil, he will build you what ever you can aford or sell you what ever you need...every tank that he sells is tested before it shipped.
My advice.....read through a couple fourms, decide what you want, make a plan, figure out your budget.....do as much work as you feel ok with....search youtube and watch some rc tank battles.....spend some time learing before you light up the card....jmo
