going to try milliput for my zim as the filler idea hasn't worked. question is as i dislike milliput( i've never been able to mix it without getting covered in it for some reason so i've always shyied away from it) should i make a paper template of the are i want to milliput and then cut the putty to match the shape, or, just roll a sheet stick it on and then trim it? i hate milliput as much as i hate zim , but the KT needs it so it has to be done.

First score the sides of the hull to help the MP adhere to it. Mix your milliput. Get some talcum powder and sprinkle it on a hard surface. Next, get a rolling pin and sprinkle the RP with talcum powder ( This is just like the method for rolling out pastry ) Next roll the milliput out flat, for my Tiger and Wirbelwind I made up card board templates of the Hull sides that I intended to cover. I then cut around the templates, or you can use a steel rule after measuring the sides. Next with a wet modeling brush clean off any powder that is left on the underside of the MP section that you are goingto apply. After wards leave about 5 mins, get a screw driver or any tool you think will do the job and press it into the MP to give the zim effect. If it sticks. wet the SD. This method I think, gives you more control then trying to spred the MP out over the panel to be covered.

Thats a great job with the waffle effect Andy. You made that tool yourself, carved out of wood correct.

Remember to score the panel sides or the MP will not adhere or stop in place over time.
