Get a quad bike, strap an army supplus rocket launcher to your back and your all sorted out

If your budget is for something that big then I'd buy a H/L tank and have a play first, just to get some experience. then you'll be able to have a better understanding.

I second that, these guys have some unique builds and do battle, with Paintball cannons! The links page is a valuable resource for scratch building, and the components.

I would agree with Saxondog, these guys know their stuff. I have made 2 of the tracks systems and motor controller circiut from their website.
An excellent source of reference for all scratch builders.

How about a 1/6th scale Cromwell, all the plans and build details are on this site http://www.thedecoy.org/1/6th/plan/
Its something I have on the back burner at the moment, too much to do at 16th scale first.
