I have a Heng Long Tiger 1 Tank with Smoke and Sound and metal upgrades .I have ordered MPI promax 400 motors 7.2 v and 13T pinion gears. Will the electronics be able to handle the load of the promax 400 motors?I would like to thank you now for what will be a lot of questions down the road

Should be ok. I’m running Graupner 400 Speed 6v motors in my heavy tiger and are fine. This motor is rated at 4A the 7.2v version is rated at 3.3A, so presuming the Promax is similar spec as the Graupner 7.2v you be ok.

Another thing is do you run a cooling fan on your electronics? This should help cool them and extend the life.

The one upgrade that in addition to your motors would be fan cooling the RX18 Board. I chose double fans and an elevated unit. Over two years of running with no problems,my pinion is 12t, but 13 should work fine,I'm a little fast for scale but it is the durability of fan cooling that I am pointing out.

The post of how I installed the fans in on this forum,the bottom fan is very large pulling air through the unit and discharging into the bottom area also helps to keep the cooler bottom air moving around the hull.http://www.rctankwarfare.co.uk/forums/v ... +RX#p74649" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

fyi go to your local computer or computer parts store to get the fans, you can pick up a 20mm x 20mm that uses 4 to 12 volts for less than 10 bucks. 20mm x 20mm covers the full size of the HL board and they use next to no battery life.

Also go for 5v fans as the 12v ones don't spin fast enough to blow much air.

I use http://www.modelsport.co.uk/ansmann-rac ... ucts/37390 these. Blows a right wind through.

New question now. The part number for the 13T pinion gear is GPMG0246 and for a 11T is GPMG0245.Which one would give the best torque for outdoors.I don`t care about speed and closer to scale for the tank. Remember the gearboxes are Heng Long metal upgrade ones
New question, does anyone know the pitch of these pinion gears. I have searched and searched till my fingers are sore ? I am guessing 32pitch??
Like I told you ,I am full of questions and plenty more to come.

The 13 tooth pinion will be faster but less torque. 11 tooth pinion slower (but fast than HL 10 tooth) but more torque than the 13 tooth.

Pitch is 48 (or 46) and shaft sice is 2.3mm.

If you haven't ordered the motors yet might be easier to buy low ratio 3:1 gearboxes as these will give better torque than the HL gearbox with better motors.

Hope that helps.
