Post by Boo »

New to RC Tanks and have been looking at an Heng Long Tiger 1 Grey, upgrade version if can get one for my first tank.

Any advice or suggestions would be welcome on other Tank models. But Heng long prices are about my budget.

Also any good model Website suggestions welcome too.

Looks a brill forum by the way.

Cheers. :)

Hi there if your looking at Heng long I would go for the Panther IR version with gun recoil ! Welsh dragon hads them and there pretty good! I started with a heng long tiger! And when it comes down to it if you want to turn it into an accurate model there's a lot that wrong with the tiger!!!! One problem is the turret is the wrong shape the gun mantel is wrong as well plus one major thing is the turret turning point is in the wrong place so when the turret turns the storage bin is siting over the side of the tank! The list goes on and on ! There' panthers pretty good and so is the king tiger! But if it's the tiger 1 your after your beter off buying a second hand tamiya tiger! In the long run it will work out a lot cheaper!!!! Beleve me! Hope that helps you a bit! Lol

Welcome to the forum Boo.

The Heng Long Tiger is a good choice to start with, but does have problems with the tracks coming off a lot.

I like the Russian KV-1 bit more expensive than the Tiger but doesn't have the problem of tracks coming off. But plenty of Heng Long tanks available to choose from.

welcome to the forum Boo. My personal favorite right now is the Heng Long Panther. Seems to have won many people over. B|
