HL Barrel Recoil

Probably daft question, but how does the HL recoil work in so much connection to the gun barrel.
I mean I know you can buy HL recoil unit but I’ve only ever seen after market metal gun barrels which allow for movement and no HL ones. Surely not a case of cutting the standard plastic barrel and connection is it?

Hi Tb. I had never realy though about it. But i guess you are right in saying it would have to be cut,and a section added for it to work.

It be interesting to see how these come from the factory with the recoil unit already fitted.

Hi Tankbear, I have a Heng Long Porsche King Tiger with the infra red option so this comes with barrel recoil as standard. I haven't pulled it apart (yet!!

) but I can tell you Heng Long have used a metal gun barrel.
Have you considered the Asiatam recoil unit?, I have one fitted in my Tiger I and in my opinion it works better than the HL unit in the King Tiger.
Regards
Steve

Hi Steve,
That's intresting to know the IR come with metal barrel.
I have thought about the Asiatam one, but heard that it was unrealiable. But saying that by the time modded the HL one so is quick in the recoil direction, suppose is about equal.

Thanks for the info guys. I was sort of half hoping to reuse existing barrel and manlet mainly so didn't have to camoflague paint it again as getting it to match probably be difficult as I used spray paint from tins son not too much control.
I look into the metal parts as probably better long term with wear and tear of the moving parts.
