Post by schuey »

Well ive been lurking on here now for a few weeks and i think i ought to say hello,im new to tanks but been messing with r/c cars hellys and planes for a few years, bought myself a tauchpanzer 3 in desert coluors and must say im very pleased with it couldnt resist taking it to bits before i run it though :haha: i had the gear boxes out and run them in and must say they are better but i might have them out again and give them a bit more i wish they wasnt as noisy though, ive run this little beast a few times in my back garden and it runs really well even on the short grass. Now ive got to get a Tiger i think every one has to have a Tiger no model collection is complete with out one then a panzer in grey then a OMG i think im addicted oh and all them lovely metal bits i recon thats enough for now lol.Lyndon.

Welcome Lyndon.

Always good to have new members.

I’m bias towards the Tiger, as I have two LOL. Just be aware the tracks come off the Tiger easily, but by sounds of it your not afraid to take the beast to bits in search for perfection so you should be fine.

Hi schuey,
Welcome to the Forum
Nice to see that you are addicted so soon..and as you say you just HAVE to have a TIGER 1......In my opinion it is THE iconic Panzer !!
There is a wealth of information in the Forum and its members. You can use the 'Search' box that is located in the top right hand corner of the main banner or simply start a new post with your question and someone will be along shortly to help you out or to point you in the right direction.
If you are thinking about how to paint the Tiger 1 there is an excellent range of camoflauge colours and patterns in the reference section .......

Welcome to the Forum schuey.
Glad you stopped lurking and came into a great forum.
Beware addictions are expensive!
Mine in 1/16th started in 1994 with a Tamiya Sherman ( pre sound effects), then when Tamiya introduced their full sound models, a Tiger 1 then another Sherman, then a Pershing finally another Tiger 1.
I retired so in 2002 addiction had to end.
In 2005 the addiction really kicked in. 1/6th scale Panther, Kubelwagen, Kettenkrad and SdKfz 222.

Hi,thanks for the welcomes.I think one of the things im going to enjoy about the tanks is its going to be a lot more relaxing back in the days when i raced model cars it sometimes got a bit tedious with all the preparation maintenance etc to stay competative i did enjoy it but you had to spend a lot of time in the workshop but now with the tank i can do little bits has and when i please plus i get to play with the tank(s) in the garden ;D,the mechanical side of the tanks im going to really enjoy but the cosmetic side im going to struggle with especially after seeing what some of you guys have done to yours the time and effort youve put into them is really amazing and i cant ever see me getting to that sort of standard.I think what im going to do is pick my self a cheap s/h tank up and then hack it to bits and make a mess of that rather than destroy my nice new shiny tauchpanzer it just doesnt seem right to destroy a perfectly good model. Hi Schuey,

Don't worry about your modelling skills, although we're all rc tankers there is probably 3 groups of us. There is the ones which as you've seen are more into the modelling and detail of them, then the ones which just want to play with the tanks, and finally the in between which is a bit of both.

I put myself in the middle enjoy taking to bits, upgrading, breaking, and playing.
