Hi peeps

I'm looking for track hangers for my Tiger, I found these which seem to be doing the rounds at the moment.



Good value for money but the top bits look like they are closed (pointing down) so you could not use the tracks on them as this would push the bottom link to far down, or is it just me?

Look I'm nearly 50 and I like a good moan now and again!

Are these the same set? From Steve at Welsh Dragon, very reasonable.

They look the same, what are your thoughts?

I really cannot recommend these, having installed and then removed them on my HL Tiger. The links and lower hangers are fine, but the upper clips make little sense. Not only do they look like a poor approximation of the original - they have a spigot which is presumably supposed to fit into the top of each link, but there are no corresponding holes in the metal links. I eventually gave up and replaced these with the hinged clamps from the Hachette build your own Tiger which I found on ebay. I have kept the links and lower hangers though. After all that I cannot help wondering whether I should just have taken the plunge and gone for a more expensive set - but at 3 times the price?! Tim

Thank you for that, I think I will give them a miss.

I think they are a copy of something else, a bit like the Heng Long Tiger, with the barrel being in the recoiled position when made.

I think that you may have misunderstood how the hangers actually work, I know that I did.... ...they do seem to be a bit odd at first, here are 2 pictures of the correct way to hang the tracks in the 'Holders' ........... Note that the top and the bottom hangers are 'Staggered' to fit the links AND to still allow the track pin to be stored WITH the track link , as per the second line drawing .....or to put it another way the hangers support different vertical parts on each track link.

I hope that this clarifies the correct way to mount the tracks with the pins......as I said it does seem odd, but once you 'get the idea' it works well.
I think the the line drawings are by a David ..... Someone so credit for them goes to him they are NOT my creation....I just found them on the web.

The line drawings are correct but i think the point made by the original post is that the top hinged section is cast in a downward slope, (closed), position. In the drawings they are almost straight. I have these on my 1/16 tiger. Yes they do push the track links into a lower position on the turret and somtimes snag along the tow cable bracket. Overall they are not bad though and detail is good. Do not know if thete are any better at this price.
Also the top hanger is secure and drilled to turret top but small bottom hanger is just glued on flat to flat and they have come off a few times.

Also agree with Saxondog's comment re lack of hole in top of links but they are just standard links from a metal track set so i think they are just leaving yhat up to yhe customer. Picture is also spot on with regards to placemrnt of bottom mount. I think most people would assume bottom bracket was directly below the top in a straight line

Actually ,Tank Zone have a set of upper and lower hooks i.e. everything except the links, for just over £20. These look a lot like the more expensive Schumo ones. You can pick up spare HL nylon links pretty cheaply on ebay and use them instead of metal ones. Look on the Tank Zone site under Tamiya upgrade parts. Tim
