Matorro King Tiger

Post by Saxondog »

Well guys their are alot of new King Tigers on the Market, and many have new features and new metal parts, hulls, turrets and lower hull assemblies,wheels,tracks.tools.

But one old tank that seems to of remained the same is the Matorro King Tiger with Production Henschel Turret. I recently acquired one and found the same issue that have been noted on this tank for years. Here are a few pictures,

I intend to do a proper preview with internal inspection for member feedback.

Jagdtigerman, we are simply trying to demonstrate the failure of Matorro after so many years to improve this offering. With so many new King Tigers and the objection to this gearbox mounting design the question really should be why is Matorro so behind the times?

And it seems that countless vendors have done little to contact manufacturing and resolve these issues, the purpose of his board is to bring the issue before Membership beginner and master alike and have their feedback relayed to manufacturing.

So if Hobbyhavoc has know about this defect for so long why have they not posted their attempt to contact Matorro and resolve this very ugly defect? Perhaps you could ask them and relay to us their answer, possibly they have and the response has been negative or possibly misunderstood?

This issue of hobbyist not having a voice and manufacturing has not attempted to contact the very people buying their products, many are simply tired of the same situation. We discussed this idea and are very open to any advice you may have now that I have outlined our purpose?

Here we bring the new tanks first then in another section a review, not an opinion just the basic facts then members can voice their opinion and we forward this to manufacturing.

This is all new it's never been done and we still have some things to work out. And the negative response from other forums and Vendors has been another issue.

But even your response makes my point, what about Matorro? How about the defects and the process to bring the hobbyist view to the attention of Matorro?

Your point about the lower hull for the King Tiger,it has been the view of many here that any new tank without the Asiatam style lower hulls is a waste, the entire purpose of our efforts being to alert the manufacturers to that view, many just don't "get it".

Your free to post the new King Tiger hull if you have one, that would be a very good example of "Hobby News" and then a show-off post detailing the best and worst features.

But all "Hobby News" is not about new products, the Matorro is news because it has not been changed, and all around it are new King Tigers. Why have the defects not been changed? That is the News, and finding that answer is one object of the post.

Hi This model is quite good O.K. you have to get rid of the bump on the front ,but that is it after its just a case of which upgrade you want to do a complete lower hull is only 99pounds this makes it run just as good as any tamiya and gets rid of the bump all in one.If you cant get the Heng Long King Tiger with metal gears(O.K.we all change the gears anyway but at least you have a spare set of gears) go for this one not the Waltersons.

I used the matorro upper hull and tamiya lowers in my KT rebuild. the Matorro upper hull and bits are quite nice as they come. Lower hull leaves much to be improved.

I certainly agree with you,the upper hull details and the Zimmerite are done very well, even the loose track hangers fit very well with a little glue.

Of course the paint work leaves alot to be desired.
