panzer iv AUSF ' E ' vorpanzer

Post by mcevoyi »

hi all

well its about time i turned my attentions to early german armour ..there seems to be a lack of it ..and to produce an early panzer iv ' E ' is a good as any place to start

i have gone for the early E model with a sight twist ... late in 1942 some E models were upgraded ... used mainly in the support rol to infantry against fixed targets it was the beginning of the sturm tank .. like the tiger and the brumbar ....

The early E model has a stepped front drivers gunners front plate .... that was so simple to do i am very surprise so many other modellers have not had a bash at it ?

it took about 30 mins to to the cutting and shutting ..... and makes a huge difference to the look of the pz iv

i guess my thoughts are how far will i go with this one .... i have looked with dispair the moulded on tools ... and i am thinking about removeing them .. its a huge job in it's self ... but one i may well do

now fleshy ..pete ... is doning a superb job of his panzer iv...and i have been watching and learning.. the rc side of the build not my thing ...but there a huge amount of very very impresive work // well done pete !

well enought yapping .... yes you guess its pic time
just hope the whole pics come our ?

Nice to see you back mcevoyi! Nice build...lots of scratch building again!...

Excuse the ignorance, but what is a vorpanzer?....I would rather ask someone(you) who has studied it than google it

Aaaahhh...thanks mcevoyi...of course vor- is first/front, or if you like..initial(and me being half german....right back in the old memory banks!!!) in german, so the tank you are doing is after the prototype?

Very nice attention to detail, its coming togeather well. This is going to be one sweet looking tank when finished

Just one question ..what did you use for your rivets.
