The tamiya flash is very high voltage from the MFU. The Heng long flash fitted as standard is a high intensity low voltage LED so they are completely incompatible. I've seen high voltage flash modules for heng long advertised as after market accessories but they have an in line voltage converter and don't have a clue how to modify or if it is possible.

Interesting that the flash doesn't fit - if the barrel is a scale 88mm internal diameter it should fit if it fits into anything down to a scale 75mm (sherman/ panther/ Pz iv)

Ok thanks for that ,the bore on the barrel is i think about 4mm although the cable of the tamiya will fit the end flash is about 5mm so it looks like i will have to get it drilled out or not use a flash unit  anyone got a long 5mm drill

Or buy a different barrel? - I think the Porsche KT barrel (one piece) is the same? and Schumo make one.

Silver solder a standard length drill bit, to a length of 4mm o/s diameter steel rod, to prevent the heat treated end of the drill being softened by the silver soldering process, hold the tip in a vice, this will absorb most of the heat from the tip, and the drill will stay hard enough to drill plastic. "silver soldering" if done correctly is nearly as strong as a weld.
