I bought a battery off ebay (5300mAh) and my charge has a 1A output with auto shut off.
So am i right in thinking it should take 5 1/4 hours to charge? because for some reason it always stops after 3 hours.
When I charge my 1700mAh Ni-Cd battery that always takes 1 3/4 hours which sounds right, but for some reason the bigger battery doesn't follow suit.
I'm thinking ebay seller sent me a 3000mAh battery (was only £10) but I do recall when looking for chargers a lot of them stated would only charge up to 3800mAh batteries. So am i missing some information with reagrd the larger batteries?

Re: Battery charger question.
Your charger might have an auto cut off for time limit.
get yourself a better charger, they dont cost a vast amount something like the logic rc nx85 would be ok if you only have got nicd`s and nimhs.

Re: Battery charger question.
It is normal to charge NiCads at 10% of their capacity , so you'll need something that does 5A . I got an Imax smart charger from Forgebear , fully programable , LiPo , NiCad , Pb etc , with variable discharge/charge/cycles up to 5A

Re: Battery charger question.
Forgot to mention it is NI-Mh battery not Ni-Cd.
So you guys think it needs a beefier charger then? and not a dodgy battery?
