Tooltime

Post by Rocketman »

Hi guys

Well this morning that nice postman brought me two nice new Panzer III's thanks to Forgebear. Never had one before, one of the few thats not been in the collection.

The first thing i notices were the bloody horrible moulded on tools, however how the hell do you get them off without destroying the non slip deck around it?

How have you done this guys?

And of course what are the must have upgrades for these in your learned opinions?

hi rocket i used a dremel and ground them of flat to the base and tried to avoid hitting the deck , then used metal tools and put them in the same position, the p III runs great as standard but i went for metal tracks and running gear , plus the 3.1 gearboxs, i also raised the return wheels

I did same as Ice Monkey for tools. Not fully completed as ran into problems with a dodgy tyrret rotation motor and difficulty getting the asiatam elevation recoil to work. Lost interest for a while but will get back to it. Also added Elmod. Asiatam metal tub, road wheels. I have a build posted and you can see the deck with tools removed. Also made up some brass fittings to hold the metal tow cables and a brass rack on the back
