22/10/11 UPDATE FV510 Worrier turret build

hi all

yet again i have been a bit quiet .... actualy been quite busy ...

i will post this new build here as i am not sure where else to put its as i have combined tam HL and torro
parts so far .... so i will leave it to the powers that be to put it in the correct place ?

plastic card has been flying round the work top the last month or so while i have been getting parts together
i thought it was time to realy build some modern armour ...
so far its taken too many hours just to work out what tracks . sprockets and road wheels to use just to get this project off the ground ..and some serious hours of research

i have chatted to one or two members by pm looking info and parts .. so PLEASE to thouse please keep mum about what i am trying to put together

it will be interesting to see how may take a guess as the build goes along

HI ALL

here we go ...and update ... my fingers are killing me tonight so sorry for the spelling mistakes !

been working quite hard on the upper hull ... i have pile of drawings and a huge pile of plastic card ..
and a bit of free time ..so i hit the work bench quite hard ..and ere in dorrs has been brillinat with an almost constant supply of coffee ! i wounder what she after ?? i am off to the mvt show on sunday ...and i am sure i will spend a few quid with forgebear dave and lots of other traders ....

the hull actualy is quite a simple build ... the time was spent getting the angles right ... i too the time to measure up many times befour i commited knift to plastic ...its worth the extra time to make sure its correct ...there nothing worse than have to redo an pannel ....

i also now have a pile of books .... and when i can track down a second doner tam leo 1 .. i will build a secd worrier .. the arv version ..... but this one first ....

Oooh I like this one, amazed no one thought of it before, Probably going to bring on flashbacks of hurling along in the back of one in oooooh 1993 in Bosnia when the track snapped and we went winging off into the bondu ! No harm done and very shocked looking driver reports "errrr I think we lost a track" to which we reply "No sh%t Sherlock" Happy days

hi all

i cannot believe where this year has gone .... so looking forward to next year and the thought on new armour out there.. i am quite interested in the HL chineese modern tank .. ( for gor its name ? )

any way .....

Ere in doors has been giveing me a bit of griff of late as i have the worrier sat on top of the dvd player ..collecting dust for months .. i have picked it up one or twice .. as i am not happy with the ride height at the momet .. and have not found a way to change the way the tamiya springs ..set the height .. if you all see ??

any way thats a problem i will try to deal with at an other time ...

now ... what have i been up to ....'Ring o flarge' ( vk1602 ) is sat in a different corner right now ...i realy want the paint to cure .. befour i giv eit a proper weathering .... so what to do >

easy ... not ... i actulay sat down with my drawings and a large supply of coffee and cadburys roses ....
got the ruller out and and started to cut the plastic card about 9.30am .....
mean while back at the rance .... Ere in doors must have realised i was right in to doing this ..
she even supplied bacon sarnies some point in the afternoon ! ...
it took one or two attempts to get my head roud the very complex shapes that form the worriers turret ..now i know the turret like i do now i am not surprised the worrier coat a pile of money to buy

anyway enought of the chattingg .. i colud rabbit on for hours.... oh i went to bed at 3.30am ....

What a great little project..I do love seeing some thing brought to life from scratch. What was once just flat old plastic card is now turning out to be a great looking model..
Well done..keep up the good work
