Guys, I have this posted on a couple of forums and wanted to share it here as well. To make a long story short as possible, this has been a long time coming for me. I watched a close friend rigorously and tirelessly build his JT on RCu and his attention to detail amazed me. I was intimidated to try some of the thigns he had done, and now finally decided to go ahead and shoot for the sky. If I screw up, oh well...I'll try again right?
So, I was at Danville at the AAF tank museum battle weekend. I stumbled upon the gift shop and there was the KT calling for me to take it home...I heard a voice in my head saying, "if you build it, they will come"...soooo, I bought it!
I planned to make a pure fighter out of this KT, but decided that I am going to go ahead amnd add every detail I can to it. So, here is the beginnings of my King Tiger build. I am using many parts from ETO for this, including motors, geardowns, new metal road wheels, Aber kits, Schumo parts and some other misc. stuff. Here's a couple of pics to start things off...The first one says it all, huh?

















Any comments or ideas are welcome as always.
The outer front fenders are bolted to the inner parts and can be removed if needed.

Nice start,curious as my KT's are older but the rear tensioner blocks, are these an aftermarket part? And to what advantage? Interesting also are the wired bolt heads in the barrel guide bolt plate. Have you decided on a unit to model at this point?

The rear tenisoner system is made by Schumo. It is buletproof. It coomes with 2 set scres in each block that allows the tracks to be adjusted and stay that way. Well worth buying for a KT.
The cable going through the bolts is basically the samew as using cotter pins. It is there to keep the bolts from backing out.
I am ttrying hard to figure out a unit...Knispel was my first choice.hjowever there is a terrible lack of information on him. The other possiblities right now are Tiger 213 or Tiger 222. most likely it will be one of these, as long as I can find all the info I need.

The rear fenders are doing a number on my senses....it is slow but still moving along.

I found out the hard way two issues,one a stupid person who decided to lift my Porsche King Tiger by the front end braking the rear Mud Guards and the hinge,second that with a small piece of Round plasticard material the upward angle of the guards can be increased so they move as the front lifts or drives over an obstruction they move freely.

But sitting still they do look odd, Watching with interest, by the way did you happen to meet Karen and Natasha? They have helped me out many times,really great at what they do.

Sax, Natasha and Karen were both present at the event and they are absolutely wonderful ladies. I had so a great time finally meeting them after dealing with them over the phone and online so many times. I just could not leave empty handed...hence the King Tiger.

As for the mud guards, I plan to make certian they will move freely while driving. I do not want all this work down the tubes for overlooking a small detail. This is a very difficult thing to make.
